A favourite weekend walk calling by Kew, Richmond and Petersham Nurseries
My favourite thing to do on a weekend is to take a family stroll down the river path from Barnes where we live. We invariably make a quick stop at Kew Gardens, which unknown to many has a riverside entrance. Then, if we have the energy, we’ll carry on along the path via the busy waterfront at Richmond to the haven that is Petersham Nurseries.
Most people will have heard of Petersham Nurseries for their award-winning Michelin starred restaurant but it also has a fabulously priced café that serves up delicious homemade lunches and teas in the ambience of a beautiful greenhouse. The cakes are out of this world! I recently had the most fantastic beetroot cake and if you’re feeling indulgent the Petersham rose scented syrup and rose petal prosecco is sublime!
TiYK Top Tip! Peterham Nurseries is a stone’s throw away from the National Trust’s Ham House which has excellent gardens to exhaust the children in!
